THE Onix Data Centre, a carrier-neutral colocation facility accredited with Tier IV status in Accra, Ghana, has now become an integral part of the Angola Cables’ Global Data Centre Interconnect. This strategic integration aims to significantly bolster international connectivity in Ghana and Senegal, offering an extensive gateway to 66 additional data centres, 8 OTTs/CDNs, and 21 IXPs. The move facilitates the provisioning of secure digital solutions and managed services for clients, aligning seamlessly with Onix’s commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem of partners.
Spanning an expansive area of 2,000 square metres, the data centre has been meticulously designed to cater to the escalating demands of businesses not only in Ghana but also across the region. Presently, the facility houses critical banking and financial clients, providing adaptable services tailored for the business and corporate sectors. With an unwavering focus on ensuring maximum uptime and reliability, the data centre currently accommodates 170 racks with capacities of 3kW and 5kW each. Additionally, a pod consisting of 50 racks is available for individual clients seeking cost-effective shared infrastructure solutions.
