NETFLIX has announced the discontinuation of its free plan for Kenyan users, effective from November 1, 2023. This move will result in the termination of members’ access to the streaming service’s content.

The cancellation of the free plan will be automatic, meaning that existing members will not need to take any additional action. To continue enjoying Netflix, users will be required to upgrade to one of the paid subscription plans offered by the streaming platform.

Netflix has assured Kenyan viewers that they can upgrade for as low as KSh200 per month. By doing so, they will gain access to the complete library of shows and movies, additional features, and the flexibility to watch content on various devices, including smartphones, TVs, and laptops.

The free plan, initially introduced in December 2021, provided Kenyans with the opportunity to watch ad-free Netflix content on their smartphones without the need for immediate payment upon registration.

This decision by Netflix reflects the streaming giant’s ongoing efforts to refine its subscription offerings and provide a more tailored viewing experience to its audience in Kenya and around the world.

For users in Kenya, the message is clear: upgrade to a paid plan to continue enjoying the diverse range of content that Netflix has to offer, starting November 1, 2023.

For more information on this development and Netflix subscription plans, visit Netflix’s official website.
