SEKBI LTD, a sustainable luxury fashion brand with headquarters in Mauritius and operations in Ghana and Mali, has received international certifications for its strong commitment to sustainable and ethical practices.
The company uses eco-friendly garment manufacturing methods and materials sourced from Oekotex and Global Organic Textile Standard certified suppliers. SEKBI’s signature print is made using a pigment printing process, reducing the use of materials, energy, and water.
Sekou Coulibaly, the co-founder of SEKBI LTD and a former L’OREAL executive, said, ‘At SEKBI, we are creating a new inspiring African narrative where sustainability and ethical business practices are not just buzzwords, but essential elements of a successful business strategy.’

SEKBI focuses on sustainable textile garment production practices while promoting African heritage inspired by Bogolanfini craftsmanship, a traditional West African textile craft developed over 400 years ago in the Bambara empire era. SEKBI’s Bogolan Legacy Collection showcases a range of pieces for both men and women that blend with the global consumer’s wardrobe. The company’s Private Label division manufactures corporate workwear, uniforms, and accessories for organisations such as Kempinski, Marriott, and Volvo.
Coulibaly will serve as an expert speaker at the University of St. Gallen’s 6th edition of the Africa Summit in St. Gallen, Switzerland, this month, exploring the intersection of sustainability and luxury goods in Africa and the role of technology in promoting sustainable practices and innovation in the luxury goods industry.
‘I welcome opportunities to share SEKBI’s vision and journey with the international networks at this strategic moment as we are in the process of raising funds to further expand the SEKBI BOGOLAN brand and build SEKBI Ltd.’s first eco-friendly certified smart manufacturing factory in West Africa,’ Coulibaly added.
