LIVERPOOL manager Arne Slot has said that Mohamed Salah’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or will be significantly higher if the club secures silverware this season.
The Egyptian forward, 32, has been in sensational form, scoring 30 goals and providing 21 assists in all competitions. While he is currently among the favourites for football’s most prestigious individual award, Slot believes success with Liverpool will be a crucial factor.
‘It’s great that Mo is in the discussion because it means he’s performing well, and we as a team are also doing well,” Slot said on Tuesday. “But to stay in the conversation, he must maintain his performances over the season. And usually, to win the Ballon d’Or, you need to win major trophies as well.’
