KWAMI Edem Senanu , was sworn in as Ghana’s representative to the African Union’s (AU’s) anti-corruption agency, the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AU ABC), on Tuesday at the agency’s headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
Senanu is a Ghanaian activist and social commentator known for his work in fighting corruption in Ghana.
Senanu has been involved in anti-corruption work in Ghana for more than 20 years, and has been a vocal critic of corruption at all levels of society. He has spoken out against corrupt practices in government, business, and civil society, and has called for greater accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.
One of Senanu’s notable achievements is his role in the passage of Ghana’s Right to Information Act, which was signed into law in 2019 after more than two decades of advocacy by civil society organisations. The law guarantees citizens the right to access information held by public institutions and officials, and is seen as a significant step towards promoting transparency and accountability in Ghana.
Senanu has also been involved in a number of high-profile corruption cases in Ghana, and has been vocal in his calls for the prosecution of corrupt officials.
