GAMBIA’S First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow welcomed the arrival of two 40-foot containers filled with assorted medical equipment and surgical supplies valued at €500,000, on Friday. The generous donation was presented by Imam Ebou Ndure on behalf of Human Appeal Ireland during a ceremony at State House. The medical items will be distributed to Gambian hospitals through the FABB Foundation, an organisation led by the First Lady that has been actively championing and supporting the health sector, particularly for women and children.
Expressing gratitude, Ebou Ndure acknowledged the philanthropic work of the FABB Foundation saying, ‘Human Appeal is delighted to continue working with FABB to increase support in the health sector. These medical items are a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare in The Gambia.’
Musa Ceesay, a board member of the FABB Foundation, received the medical equipment on behalf of the organisation and expressed appreciation to Ndure for his dedication to supporting the health sector. Ceesay assured Ndure that the medical items would be distributed to various hospitals across the country.
The collaboration between FABB Foundation and Human Appeal highlights their shared goal of strengthening the healthcare system in The Gambia, ensuring that hospitals have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide quality care to patients.
