THE Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund of Eswatini has successfully implemented SAP’s flagship S/4HANA Private Cloud ERP solution to enhance its claims processing capabilities and provide vital support to victims of motor vehicle accidents in the Kingdom.
The Fund, which operates under the Motor Vehicle Accidents Act No. 13 of 1991, has the responsibility of compensating individuals who have suffered injuries or loss of support due to unlawful motor vehicle incidents. The deployment of the ERP system aims to streamline operations, improve visibility of claims processes, and establish a centralised repository of accurate claim information.
Makhosi Magongo, Corporate Communications Manager at the Sincephetelo MVA Fund, expressed the organisation’s need for a solution that would expedite the claims process and provide a comprehensive view of all claims. He said, ‘Our Organisation’s reliance on outdated manual processes was hampering our ability to provide much-needed support to claimants. We sought a solution that would speed up the claims process, improve visibility over end-to-end claims processes, and provide a single source of truth for all claims in our system.’
Previously, the Fund relied on standard accounting software rather than a formal ERP system. Recognising the need for digital transformation, the Fund collaborated with SAP implementation partner Zimele Technologies to implement SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. The decision to adopt the private cloud approach was driven by the long-term benefits it offered to the organisation.
The implementation involved deploying various components, including finance, sourcing and procurement materials management, customer engagement, and Fiori reporting. To support the Fund’s core focus on claims management and cash disbursements, SAP Fioneer products were integrated with the core ERP platform. The entire implementation was completed within a tight timeline, leveraging standard processes and reporting capabilities provided by SAP’s best-practice modules.
Key to the project’s success was the extensive support received throughout the organisation, including executive sponsorship and the appointment of a dedicated change management team. The new ERP system also meets government regulations, with robust records management capabilities to ensure compliance and accurate tracking, storage, and filing of claim-related documents.
The deployment of SAP’s S/4HANA Private Cloud ERP has enabled the Sincephetelo MVA Fund to clear its backlog of historic claims and allocate funds more effectively. The improved reporting capabilities provide real-time insights to the management team, reducing reliance on manual processes and facilitating operational enhancements.
Cameron Beveridge, Regional Director for Southern Africa at SAP, commended the Sincephetelo MVA Fund for its vision and strong executive support. He stated, ‘This bold and ground-breaking project in the public sector is a showcase for how cloud, best practices, and expert guidance combine with outstanding change management support to deliver true digital transformation. Equipped with the power of SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud and supported by expert partners, the Sincephetelo MVA Fund has built a strong foundation that will enable it to deliver on its crucial mandate.’
