IN a remarkable recognition of his outstanding leadership, Rene Awambeng, Director and Global Head of Client Relations at Afreximbank, has been honoured with the Global Executive Leader Award at the Powerlist Black Excellence Awards 2024.
The Powerlist Awards, dedicated to celebrating the most influential individuals of African, African American, and African Caribbean heritage in the United Kingdom, bestowed this accolade on Awambeng for his exceptional vision, innovation, influence, and transformative impact on his organisation.
The Powerlist Awards event included a prestigious reception hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London, where Rene Awambeng shared his thoughts on the achievement. He stated, ‘I am passionate about serving Africa at Afreximbank, and this Award is a recognition of the transformational work and contribution we make to effect positive change in Africa. At Afreximbank, we consider the Diaspora as the 56th country of Africa. This Award is a privilege and should serve as inspiration for the younger generation to work diligently and aspire for positive change.’
